Tim & I finally ventured out and did something else that we could only do in New Mexico! [We've been here over a year & have only been to the Balloon Fiesta!] We went to the John Robert Dam & took our new camera out for a spin. We’re far from experienced but we had a lot of fun with all the settings. Here is our first attempt:

1- Our New Rebel XT Camera! I’m extremely excited to go home and try it out!

This story broke my heart for the little girl in the background. I can’t imagine what that did to her self-esteem & not being able to take credit for her efforts must’ve been just as painful.
BEIJING — A 7-year-old Chinese girl was not good-looking enough for the Olympics opening ceremony, so another little girl with a pixie smile lip-synced “Ode to the Motherland,” a ceremony official said — the latest example of the lengths Beijing took for a perfect start to the Summer Games.

Is it just me, or is it unnerving to see a man in a v-neck showing off his chest?

I love my polaroid! It’s so much fun to look for great pictures & see them instantly develope. The film is a little pricey [every shot I took Tim would mention it was $1.60 per photo! ha!] but I had so much fun taking pictures around the park this weekend.
My Firsts:

Tim & I grew this strawberry on our porch! It was our very first produce of the season!

The following story proves it to be true.
Tim & I have been debating buying a nice camera for quite awhile. Tim is very thorough whilst I am very impatient. In a previous situation Tim took so long to decide that the price on the item went up considerably & I vowed to never let his slowness in decisions cost us twice. After weeks of nagging I set my foot down and demanded an answer. Here was his response:
“You suck at things like this! I was going to buy it and surprise you with it but you just couldn’t wait, could you?”
I felt awful. Perhaps I should pay more attention to old proverbs. Thankfully my husband loves me regardless of my nagging & still bought me the camera.
I’m so excited!

And as if I weren’t spoiled enough, he also let me get this:

It comes with a camera case, & film! I found it on craigslist for $15!

Literally. I found this necklace on sale at Target & instantly fell in love with it. I’ve been wearing it constantly [almost everyday!] That is, until last night when Tim informed me that it is turning my neck GREEN. Yuck.

The culprit

i’ve finally caught the bug that tim has been carrying around for weeks. i tried cough drops that my boss gave me but they made me fight keeping it down with every swallow so i made myself a cup of peppermint tea. i have to admit i haven’t actually made myself a cup of tea for awhile. i don’t know what the difference is but Tim seems to make it perfect everytime. So here I sit with my imperfect cup of tea, wishing my Tim were here with me.

bff & her hubby are getting anniversary pictures early this year & was worrying about cutting her hair so close to her picture session. Rightfully so. When she was tempted to cut it herself I told her the following story.
twas the night before our engagement pictures, i was all alone in the house.
my bangs so grown out, i resembled mickey mouse.
cocky me said “i’ll cut them myself!”
& my hands proceeded to grab the scissors from the shelf.
snip, snip, snip & a little trim there,
I finally looked up to realize I had no hair!
Crying & sobbing were in my stylists ears
she’ll forever laugh at this for the rest of her years.
the best we could do is to style it with precision
all because of my stupid decision.
the pictures, for the most part, turned out quite good
but every now & again you’d see what no one should.
The proof:

luckily, our friend was able to capture enough of these to include in our announcement:
